Gunter Remembers Jane Robinson, KTEN News

Remember Jane Robinson

It is with a heavy heart that everyone involved with the Gunter Parks Foundation gives thanks to Jane's family at this devastating time for asking that donations be made in her name to the Gunter Parks Foundation in lieu of flowers or gifts. Her memory is cherished and her spirit lives on in the dreams and hopes she had for her grandchildren: Jake, Elyson, and Will. She is one more reason we all need this park to happen.

Jane Robinson was born December 27,1953 in Baytown, Texas. She was the daughter of Roy and Bettye (Goree) Perritt. Jane married Gary Robinson February 2,1973 in Denton, Texas. She brought a smile to many people's faces for the many years she worked as a Beautician with her quick, humor and infectious laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her. Jane passed away March 26, 2015 in Plano, Texas at the age of 61 years old.

A tribute page has been set up by Jane's family here.

Design Day a Huge Success!

Blueprint

Our first formal event, Design Day, had a massive turnout, with outstanding representation from the children and the adults of our wonderful community. Thank you all for your participation and the hope you have given these children as they begin to look forward to their new playground.

We would like to give special thanks to the students of Gunter Elementary for the obvious effort they put into the event. The most endearing part of the night was the unveiling of the new park layout which they individually contributed to. If you were blessed enough to see their eyes and their whispers in hushed tones as the designers described each new play area, you begin to understand the need this community has for the new park.

Please remember their sincerity that night when considering a donation to this endeavor (in time and money). Every little bit gets us closer to making their dream a reality. Thank you all for coming out and keep your eyes on the website for news of the next event!
